Yum!  I love smoothies.  Smoothies are amazing for a plethora of reasons.  For starters, variety is the spice of life and these blender-ized, delicious and nutritious treats are as versatile as they come.  Aside from having the freedom to let your creative juices (no pun intended!) flow in your options of flavor combinations, smoothies also contribute to optimum health.

Provided that you pack your smoothie full of nutrient dense foods, you will be sure to reap the benefits.  Smoothies are fantastic for obtaining necessary fiber.  Fiber is absolutely imperative for stabilizing blood sugar which is paramount for everybody, but especially for those living with diabetes and hypoglycemia.  Fiber also helps prevent disease by aiding the body in elimination of waste and toxins, as well as assisting in weight loss.

Smoothies improve digestion, assimilation, and elimination.  When you create one of these blender wonders, you are breaking down the cells of plants making it a lot easier on your body to take it in, absorb it, and eliminate it.  So drink up!  Life can be miserable struggling with an unhealthy digestive system.  Give your digestive health the love and care that it deserves with tons of fruits and veggies, as well as experimenting with different sources of protein or even throwing in some soaked oats for a carbohydrate surprise.  If its good healthy fats that the body is demanding, then toss in some nuts, avocado, or a spoonful of coconut oil or peanut butter.  What ever it takes to get those essential vitamins and minerals in your system.  In addition to acquiring crucial nutrients, smoothies help to keep you hydrated, brimming with antioxidants, and full of energy.  It is the perfect "fast food."  Throw it all in a blender, push a button, and drink up some healthy goodness.  This glass of vitality will also be beneficial to weight loss (unless you have jammed it full of ice cream and chocolate syrup).  It is a perfect meal replacer, healthy substitute to empty calorie drinks and snacks, and chock full of fiber to help curb cravings.  Last, but not least, smoothies are great for hiding all sorts of fruits and veg from picky eater's.

So whatever smoothie ingredients tickle your fancy, get blending and enjoy!

Wishing you the best of health and happiness,

                                                                                                                                                                          Stacy xoxo
