Smile!  Trust me, you'll look a million times more attractive.  Prime example is this handsome, grinning, fellow mammal pictured here to our left.  How can you deny a face like this??

Study after study has shown that by slapping on a smile, the world becomes a better place.  This happy expression has been proven to grant great health benefits.  Smiling decreases stress.  It also reduces heart rate which, in turn, slows down the heart and helps relax the body.  The look of delight actually encourages trust, produces empathy, and increases attention.  If that's not enough, it makes you look younger, boosts your immune system, and increases longevity.  And, the best part is, it's free!!!

If you have your heart set on being a Debbie- downer, so be it, but studies have also shown that a smile will earn you success.  Why deny yourself what you deserve?  In the case that you really are an unhappy camper, fake it till you make it.  Often, the mind will follow the muscles of that award- winning grin, and a true smile will ensue.

Ron Gutman has explored the act of smiling through extensive research.  Gutman has put together a great Ted Talk where he has proven that a "smile can be a predictor of how long you'll live."  He also speaks about the smile having a "measurable effect on your overall well-being."  Take a few minutes of your time to check out "The Hidden Power of Smiling":  http://www.ted.com/talks/ron_gutman_the_hidden_power_of_smiling.html.  I totally recommend it.

So, beautiful people, show us that toothy grin and let the contagiousness of your bright light ignite!

Wishing you all the best of health and happiness,

                                                                                                                                                                  Stacy xoxo
